About The Role
As the People Operations Manager, you’ll work closely with our Chief People Officer to drive our employee onboarding experience, engagement, and retention strategies, manage our employment policies and programs, and provide consultative employee relations guidance to leaders. This role's primary responsibilities will be executing the employee onboarding/offboarding experience, employee relations, performance management, and workplace safety/compliance.
A typical day for this role includes:
- Managing and optimizing the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding
- Receiving a “Five-star Review” for facilitating the onboarding and orientation process for newly hired employees
- Analyzing HR metrics and creating data-driven recommendations for leadership
- Leading core people programs such as performance review cycles, engagement surveys, and compensation reviews
- Ensuring HR compliance, HRIS data accuracy, and maintaining essential documentation
- Manage employee relations and facilitate issue resolution, including investigation, documentation, and possible corrective action and consequences.
- Interpreting, educating, and guiding leaders and associates on company policies and procedures.
- Serving as a trusted advisor/internal consultant to management on a broad range of people-related matters, including coaching, and performance management, talent development, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Leverage systems and tools to optimize processes, drive efficiency, and enable data-driven decision-making.
- Drive operational excellence by developing scalable people processes that support business objectives, reducing our tech stack and managing costs associated with system access
- Cultivating our values-based culture and creating engagement opportunities through initiatives and events
- You have a proven track record of building and scaling people operations in a high growth environment
- You have the EQ needed to navigate employee relations in a manner that empowers leaders to make decisions for their teams
- You pay great attention to detail and take pride in creating a high-impact employee onboarding experience that excites employees about their decision to join our organization.
- You are highly productive working from home and a great presenter on camera! You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and can effectively present ideas and concepts to diverse audiences over video calls.
- You thrive in ambiguous situations and can balance competing priorities with high accountability and follow-up. Having a high sense of urgency is your jam!
- You quickly build rapport and collaborate effectively with diverse employees at all levels of the organization.

- Most importantly, you're passionate about delivering programs and systems that enable employees and the business to succeed
- A bachelor's degree in HR, business, or equivalent years of experience working in the field of HR.
- 4 years of HR/People Operations experience, preferably with at least 2 years in a high-growth startup with 300-500 employees
- HR certification from SHRM or HRCI is required
- Certified and/or experienced in conducting unbiased workplace investigations
- High performer in a work-from-home environment (WFM) as an individual contributor, preferably with 2 years of experience directly supervising others.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced hybrid (offices and virtual) work environment.
- Experience processing payroll for a multi-state employer with hourly and salary staff, Benefits administration, and proficiency with HRIS systems. High preference for expertise in Bamboo HR, JazzHR, and Employee Navigator
- Demonstrated hunger to learn, take initiative, and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to achieving excellence.
- Accountability for responsibilities and ownership of outcomes.
- Coachability and openness to growth, learning, and adapting to new challenges.
- Strong understanding of State (NC and Idaho) and Federal employment laws and regulations.
- Experience with employee relations, conflict resolution, and manager/employee coaching.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

- Mentorship by a 25-year seasoned Chief People Officer with the opportunity to develop and be promoted to a Senior Manager Level in 2-5 years.
