Job description
Opal Foods is accepting applications for the position of Poultry Moving Crew Member for our Neosho, MO egg farms. This position is responsible for loading and unloading birds at assigned locations while maintaining compliance with all company policies and government regulations. This position may also be asked to assist on other projects or job duties as needed. Pay determined based on experience.
Position Responsibilities:
- Load and unload pullets/spent hens with no harm to birds while maintaining compliance with company policies and government regulations
- Comply with all company humane animal care policies/procedures, and government regulations
- Comply with all company bio-security policies and procedures
- Set up work station, supplies and equipment as needed at the start of each work shift
- Take down and store work equipment at end of each shift
- Help in other areas when needed
- Vaccinate birds when needed
- Other duties as assigned by Lead person or Manager
Requirements: (knowledge, experience, skills, education)
- Effectively communicate and work in a team environment
- Demonstrate the ability to count and record counts
- Ability to quickly and accurately coordinate hand movement based on visual observation
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and lift up to 5 lb. hens
- Must be comfortable handling live birds and working while surrounded by live birds on all sides
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Candidates must not have contact with any bird species of any kind, other than the laying hens owned by the company
