Opal Foods is currently accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Lead for our School egg processing plant in Neosho, MO. The position is responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and repair of processing equipment and facilities. The position is a hands-on working position that also supervises maintenance techs and conducts maintenance planning duties for the assigned facility.
Position Responsibilities:
- Maintain preventative maintenance program for all machines, boilers, compressors, etc. related to processing
- Maintain Processing chemicals’ inventory
- Assign tasks to maintenance technicians and provide overall guidance
- Maintain records for various forms of inventory, preventative maintenance, fire protection equipment, PPE, etc.
- Ensure the maintenance team follows the preventative maintenance program and record keeping
- Maintain spare parts inventory
- Maintain the monthly maintenance budget
- Be available/reachable for emergencies 24/7
- Maintain building maintenance throughout the year
- Participate in management meetings
- Create/maintain the schedule for maintenance technicians
- Facilitate meetings with outside contractors when needed
- Adhere to all company Good Manufacturing Procedures, Safe Quality Foods and Safety Policies
Physical Requirements of a Maintenance Lead:
- Fast paced work environment
- Lift fifty or more pounds on a regular basis
- Bend, lift, pull, push, stoop, bend and climb
Requirements: (knowledge, experience, skills, education)
- Demonstrates the ability to lead others well
- Must demonstrate attention to details
- Must be able to work at a fast-pace, stand, walk, and complete repetitive tasks extended time periods
- Must be available to be scheduled for work 7 days a week including holidays
- Must be available 24/7 (able to be reached/on call) if not able to do this for a period of time this must be communicated with your processing manager
- Proven knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, boiler, cooling units and HVAC, troubleshooting electrical, reading schematics, and wiring diagrams in manufacturing setting
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Available for occasional travel upon request
- Demonstrates ability to schedule others effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial machinery maintenance within a manufacturing environment
- PLC (Programmable logic controller) experience
