We are looking to add a Catering Event Manager to our Clearwater team at Opal Sands and Opal Sol. Responsibilities:
Solicit, book, plan and coordinate weddings, meetings, and social functions while maximizing the function space to meet and exceed sales goals at Dual Properties. Position is responsible for booking social catering business including high end weddings at Dual Properties.

Solicit, negotiate and book social catering events by building rapport with clients, qualifying their needs and selling the appropriate event space while maximizing function space and revenue

Accurately forecasts sales pipeline and monthly event revenue to keep management abreast of activities.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate and hotel procedures and products including the competition’s product, strengths and weaknesses to continually improve sales strategies and closing of business

Sell, plan, and detail weddings, meetings and social functions at Dual Properties with the client including: leads, tours, space requirements, times, setup, menus, tastings, etc. Complete sales contracts, prepare detailed banquet event orders, coordinate with the appropriate areas in the hotel and outside vendors, collect deposits and full payments for all events, and resolve customer issues, complaints and problems to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.

Up-sells products and services throughout the detailing process

Manages and coordinates all event details to promote the smooth execution of all weddings, meetings and social events at Dual Properties.

Ensure consistent, high level service throughout the planning and event process
Other Duties:

Participate in weekly BEO Meetings, Staff Meetings, and Sales Meetings at Dual Properties

Maintain good working relationships within the whole hotels
Qualifications:

Hospitality degree or Four-year college degree preferred.

A minimum of two years’ experience required in a related position with this company or other organization(s)

Requires thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of the rooms, catering, food & beverage and hospitality professions.

Must possess communication skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence professionals and resort clients

Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
