Job Title : Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Position Summary : The Chief Operating Officer at OPARC will play a pivotal role in driving the organization's strategic initiatives and ensuring operational efficiency. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position is responsible for overseeing the professional development of leadership and management teams, serving as the corporate compliance officer, and leading the implementation of a data-driven approach to performance management. The Chief Operating Officer will also develop solutions to address organizational threats and identify systems and processes to maximize workflow efficiencies. This role requires a strong understanding of corporate compliance, risk management, and business intelligence platforms, as well as excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Strategic Initiative Execution :

Collaborate with the CEO to ensure the successful execution of strategic initiatives.

  • Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Identify and address any obstacles to achieving strategic goals.
  • Professional Development :
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive professional development plan for leadership and management teams.

  • Facilitate training programs and workshops to enhance skills and competencies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Corporate Compliance :
  • Serve as the corporate compliance officer, ensuring adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Business Intelligence Platform Implementation :
  • Identify and implement a business intelligence platform that collects and analyzes data for all core business functions.

  • Ensure the platform supports data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Train staff on the use of the platform and ensure its effective utilization.
  • Organizational Threat Management :
  • Develop and implement solutions to address organizational threats.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure organizational resilience and sustainability.
  • Workflow Efficiency :
  • Identify systems and processes to maximize workflow efficiencies.

  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline operations, including cutting edge software and technology solutions for each core business function
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of workflow improvements.
  • Propose adjustments to organizational infrastructure based on key performance indicators and insights from business intelligence for each department.
  • Innovation & Performance Management
  • Oversee the development and implementation of IT strategies and initiatives

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Develop and implement performance management systems to track and improve organizational performance
  • Set performance goals and monitor progress towards achieving them
  • Provide regular feedback to leadership to help them achieve their goals
  • Reports To : Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

    Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, or a related field (or bachelor’s degree plus equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a senior management role, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
  • Proven track record of successfully executing strategic initiatives and driving organizational change.
  • Strong understanding of corporate compliance and risk management.
  • Experience with business intelligence platforms and data analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
