QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education
- Must hold an appropriate Alabama Professional Educator Certificate
- Must meet the suitability criteria for employment as required by the Alabama
- Child Protection Act of 1999 and ACT No. 2002-457
REPORTS TO: Principal
ANNUAL CALENDAR DAYS: 187 (9 Months)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish strong working relationships with leadership at area schools and daycares to coordinate work-based learning experiences for students.
- Provide aspiring teachers with resources to support their path into the teaching profession.
- Collaborate with industry professionals to ensure alignment between the Education pathway and regional workforce needs.
- Coordinate and manage the state-recognized Career Tech Student Organization
- Appropriately budgets and spends federal, state, and local funds to support CTE programs.
- Define goals and objectives for unit and daily plans based on knowledge and understanding of curriculum.
- Identify specific intended learning outcomes which are challenging, meaningful and measurable.
- Plan and prepare a variety of learning activities considering individual student’s culture, learning styles, special needs, and socioeconomic background.
- Develop or select instructional activities which foster active involvement of students in the learning process.
- Plan and prepare lessons and instructional strategies which support the school improvement plan and the system mission.
- Establish and maintain a positive and safe learning environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
- Maintain a clean, attractive, and organized learning environment.
- Establish and use behavior management techniques which are appropriate and effective.
- Establish routines and procedures and work with students on consistently following them.
- Create a learning climate that is challenging, yet non-threatening.
- Establish appropriate testing environment and ensure test security.
- Establish and maintain efficient record keeping procedures.
- Assist in enforcement of school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
- Encourage self-assessment by students and assist them in developing plans for improving their performance.
- Use appropriate material, technology, and resources to help meet learning needs of all students.
- Provide instruction on safety procedures and proper handling of materials and equipment.
- Provide accurate and timely information to parents and students about academic and behavioral performance of students.
