What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deec Certified Toddler Teacher position at Open Arms Child Care Center?
Center Description:
Open Arms Child Care Center in Southwick, MA is looking for a full-time certified Toddler teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be DEEC Teacher Certified, will have a flexible full-time schedule and ready to start within two weeks of interview. Our location is 568 College Highway. We are open Monday through Friday from 7 am to 6 pm.
EEC Certified Teachers starting at $18/hour
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourages their social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual development
- Support each child's emotional development and make them feel comfortable, relaxed, happy and involved in play, learning, and other center activities
- Interact with children, parents, and staff members in a friendly, positive, and courteous manner
- Plan lessons that are developmentally appropriate and reflect observations and assessments of the children in your care
- Document children's progress through portfolios and progress reports
- Arrive to work as scheduled
- Maintain indoor and outdoor environments that are safe, clean, and well organized
- Follow DEEC and center regulations and policies
Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
- Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care certification or willingness to obtain (if applicable)
- Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and work indoors or outdoors
- Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children
- All applicants must meet state specific guidelines for the role including a background record check
