What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant/Toddler Teacher position at Open Arms Christian Early Childhood Center?
Overview
Open Arms CECC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate teacher to join our infant or toddler care and education team. Teachers play a critical role in planning out care routines and enrichment activities to not only meet the needs of infants and toddlers but also spark curiosity and support development of the youngest learners. Teachers also play a role at Open Arms CECC in helping promote infants' or toddlers' foundations in faith by conducting themselves with Christ-like principles of love, kindness and patience in their care.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that encourage exploration and learning.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that supports the emotional and social growth of each child.
- Provide care for infants and toddlers which includes feeding, diapering, napping and active engagement in play as well as structured activities.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and any concerns as well as day-to-day milestones or observations.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom space conducive to learning and care.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive educational experience that represents Open Arms CECC's dedication to implementing Creative Curriculum.
- Stay informed about best practices in early childhood education and participate in ongoing professional development through monthly meetings and regular trainings including workshops and conferences.
Experience
- Prior experience in a preschool, daycare, or similar childcare setting is preferred.
- Skills in babysitting, caregiving, or working with children with disabilities are highly valued.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR is beneficial to ensure the safety of all students.
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain an engaging yet structured learning environment.
- A genuine passion for working with infants/toddlers and supporting their development.
