Reports To: Minister of Music
Overview:
Open Arms CLT is seeking a gifted and passionate Worship Leader to guide our congregation in worship. As a non-denominational, Bible-based, multi-ethnic, and multi-generational church, we desire someone who can create a welcoming and inclusive worship atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable expressing their love for God. The ideal candidate will have a heart for worship, strong vocal and musical abilities, and a desire to facilitate a meaningful connection between the congregation and God.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Congregational Worship: This is your primary role. Lead the congregation in worship through song, prayer, and scripture reading during Sunday services and other church events.
- Facilitate Engaging Worship Experiences: Create a worship environment that is engaging, inspiring, and reflective of our diverse congregation.
- Cultivate a Heart of Worship: Encourage and inspire the congregation to express their love for God through authentic worship.
- Collaborate with the Music Ministry: Work closely with the Minister of Music and other musicians to ensure a cohesive and unified worship experience.
- Develop Vocal Skills: Continually refine your vocal abilities and stage presence.
- Spiritual Growth: Maintain a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and actively pursue spiritual growth.
- Team Player: Work effectively as part of the worship team and support the overall vision of the music ministry.
- Teach Vocal Parts: Confidently and effectively teach vocal parts to other members of the worship team.
- Utilize Music Department Software: Demonstrate proficiency in Planning Center and Multitracks software to plan and execute worship sets.
Qualifications:
- Strong Vocal Ability: Possess a strong and confident singing voice.
- Musical Proficiency: Demonstrate musical ability, preferably with an instrument.
- Stage Presence: Comfortable and engaging in front of an audience.
- Spiritual Maturity: A deep and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Passion for Worship: A genuine desire to lead others in worship.
- Teamwork Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Teaching Ability: Able to effectively teach vocal parts to others.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in Planning Center and Multitracks.
- Alignment with Church Values: A strong commitment to the vision, culture, and leadership values of Open Arms CLT.
Time Commitment:
- This position requires an estimated 15-20 hours per week.
- Weeks that require additional research for the music department (finding substitute musicians, etc.) may increase weekly hours.
