These support services assist the individual in maintaining their own living arrangement in an integrated community setting. Individuals in these settings are encouraged to refine their social and community skills.

Open Door Center is seeking Full Time Direct Support Professionals to work with Adults with disabilities in their home during sleep hours. The role of DSP is to support individual with special needs with all aspects of life, including health, personal cares, therapeutic, educational, recreational, and leisure activities, to achieve the best health and life possible.
The ICF atmosphere allows the person supported to pursue normal living experiences in a homelike environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Protects consumer's rights.
Promotes dignity and respect.
Promotes natural support networks.
Provide protection from abuse, neglect, mistreatment and exploitation.
Ensures the best possible health.
Provide safe environments.
Other Responsibilities
Pass written tests on required training modules from Minot State University as scheduled. Write progress notes and other required documentation. Compensation may be based on status of modules.
Work Habits
Serves as a positive role model for other team members, following the mission, values, and policies of Open Door Center. Accepts responsibility to be at work as scheduled to ensure best possible supports for individuals or fills shift when necessary. Accepts weekend and holiday hours. Adheres to policies. Recognizes the importance of information sharing and gathering at home and staff meetings, teamwork, and initiative.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Ability to read and comprehend objectives in a Support Plan.
Ability to record and document in writing programming and daily activities of consumers.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with situations, which may arise, with consumers or residence.
Current driver's license.
Ability to speak English.
Regularly required to talk or hear and to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
Regularly required to walk and stoop, kneel or crouch.
Frequently required to stand, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception required.
