Currently Hiring Morning Part-Time Preschool Assistant
Open Door Preschool is seeking to hire an energetic, creative, and loving preschool assistant to care for children under the supervision of the preschool teacher and director. Our growing preschool is looking for those who would love aid in teaching preschoolers each weekday morning. This assistant will work with other staff and volunteers to help care for children. Hours will range from 18-25 hours per week.
The ideal candidate should:
- Have a passion for maintaining a nurturing, safe, and supportive environment for preschool children.
- Have patience, flexibility, and a love for children.
- Maintain a commitment to professionalism.
- Have a strong desire to work collaboratively with a team to support the delivery of preschool programming and/or daily care for preschool children.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Helping the Director, Teacher, staff, and volunteers supervise a group of children aged three to five years old.
- Actively engaging with the children in classroom and play activities.
- Encouraging children to interact with each other to develop social skills.
- Providing verbal recognition and acceptance to children.
- Providing clear and consistent expectations for the children’s behavior based on the preferred classroom management and discipline strategies.
- Following the schedule of activities planned by the Teacher and/or Director.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with children and parents.
- Collaborating with other team members.
- Assisting in other capacities that the Director, Teacher, or designee determines is necessary.
Qualifications
Preferred
- Experience as a childcare provider or assistant
- Certificate in pediatric first aid, infant and pediatric CPR and the use of an AED - must possess within 90 days of hire.
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Candidates must meet all NDFPS requirements and pass the appropriate background check.
