Open Door is currently seeking a full time Medical Site Director for its teaching Community Health Center in Sleepy Hollow, NY site. This is an academic ambulatory site for the Northwell Phelps Family Medicine Residency program and reports to both the Chief Medical Officer of Open Door and the Program Director of the Residency program.
Responsibilities :
- Provide services to patients of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.
- Maintain a safe environment of care for patients and staff by reporting any unsafe condition, equipment or activities to the appropriate personnel.
- Coordinate and oversee the clinical care of faculty, residents and medical students at this teaching community health center.
- Participate in the administration of the family medicine residency program.
- Communicate and collaborate regularly with both residency and Open Door administrative leaders.
- Participate in the development and implementation of corrective action plans to address department and operational deficiencies.
- Identify and report equipment and information system malfunctions with the IT Department.
- Help maintain adequate equipment and supplies in accordance with residency, site budget and center standards.
- Preside over all site team meetings in absence of CMO.
- Coordinate and approve call schedule in absence of CMO.
- Understand and educate residents and faculty about the financial performance of site, demonstrating how productivity and utilization impact the organization’s financial performance.
- Assist Program Director and CMO in the planning and implementations of new programs.
- Supervise medical care of patients.
- Monitor clinical performance and training requirements of residents and faculty physicians on staff.
- Collaborate with Site Administrator to develop and implement department goals and objectives.
- Prepare and maintain documentation in compliance with JCAHO standards and applicable city, state and federal laws.
