What are the responsibilities and job description for the Revenue Cycle Associate position at Open Door Family Medical Center?
Open Door is currently seeking a Revenue Cycle Associate located in our Tarrytown office. The Revenue Cycle Associate is responsible for initiating reports, analyzing data, and communicating variances impacting Open Door’s revenue. This position reports to the Revenue Cycle Director and is a hybrid role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor the performance of Open Door’s outsourced billing company to ensure all claims, submissions and payment postings are accurate and timely in accordance with established internal and third-party payer requirements and in compliance with established policies, regulations, procedures, and standards
- Prepare, analyze, and maintain reports on billing/collections activity and key revenue metrics for the Revenue Cycle Director and Chief Finance Officer; identify trends for further review
- Serve as liaison for clinical departments on coding and billing issues; participate in monthly departmental meetings
- Resolve billing issues
- Optimize reimbursement from third party insurers, and monitor performance, including denials, underpayments, adjustments, and collections
- Assist with year-end fiscal audit and annual coding audits
- Other billing-related assignments
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree required (Finance, Business or Healthcare preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as Revenue Cycle Associate in healthcare
- Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to prioritize and monitor tasks
- Bi-lingual Spanish (a plus)
