What are the responsibilities and job description for the FT Facilities Technician position at Open Door Mission, Inc?
Unless otherwise noted as non-driving, all facility workers are expected to know how to operate ODM fleet vehicles. The driver must have a clean driving record to be approved per insurance standards, which includes a check for DUI/DWI, history of a suspended license, and/or vehicular manslaughter. Fleet includes a box truck, a refrigerated van, 8- passenger and 12- passenger vans, and a pickup truck.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all work orders as assigned by Director or Coordinator
- Ensure that premises and equipment are well maintained, clean and safe; inspecting work of technicians and providing feedback to director
- May be available after hours to respond to emergency situations pertaining to heating failure, water leaks, and inclement weather concerns and share on-call responsibilities with the director
- Administer approved procedures as it pertains to assignment of tasks, use of equipment, safety, preventative maintenance and repairs
- Ensure the efficient and prompt handling of all department work
- Perform from start to completion any and all of facilities related work orders
- Daily tasks may include but are not limited to: general carpentry, remodeling, electrical, plumbing, painting, safety, locks, repair of any and all types of appliances & equipment typical to all residential & commercial facilities.

- Able to read and write; and communicate via email
- Must hold a current and valid New York State Driver's License and be willing to authorize a driver's record and background check
- Physically fit, knowledge of safe handling and lifting techniques
