What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level - Training Provided - Direct Support Professional position at Open Door Rehabilitation Center?
Paid Training 3-4 weeks
When you start your Open Door career, you will have 4 weeks of paid training with hands-on experience in the group homes. When you complete the training, you will become a Direct Support Professional (DSP).
What you can expect
In this role, you will be helping adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities with their daily care. As a caregiver, you will be assisting residents in one of our ten group homes throughout Sandwich. You will have a strong support system with your supervisor and co-workers. Each home has a meal plan that you can help prepare with the clients. Each day you will be able to build relationships with the individuals you help. This role allows you to give back to someone in the community that needs your help.
Your day will include assisting the clients with:
- personal hygiene
- toileting & bathing
- preparing or assisting in meal preparation
- passing medications
- socializing
- organizing games and activities
- building relationships
Requirements
- Pass a Background Check
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have a valid drivers license
