Open Hands is looking to hire a lead staff in a position from 3 pm to 11 pm, Monday to Friday (except Wednesday), and every other weekend Saturday and Sunday from 3 pm to 11 pm. The DSP member would complete ADL and oversight at our home in Brooklyn Center. This position would involve working with four adult individuals. A valid driver's license is also required for this role.

Summary
As a DSP (Direct Support Professional) in this full-time role, you will utilize your core skill in caregiving to provide essential support to individuals who require assistance. Your premium skills in first aid, patient observation, and patient care will be instrumental in ensuring the well-being and safety of those under your care. Experience in group homes, assisted living, and home and community care will further enhance your ability to deliver high-quality assistance. Your relevant skills in long-term care and social work will enable you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those you support. A valid driver's license is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to individuals in a group home setting.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as meal preparation, community outings, and programming.
- Monitor and observe patients for any changes in condition or behavior.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents.
- Utilize first aid skills when necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of patients.
- Drive individuals to appointments or outings as needed.
Qualifications
- Caregiving experience
- First aid certification
- Patient observation skills
- Assisted living background
- Ability to perform ADLs
- Valid Driver's License
- Familiarity with cooking for clients
- Previous nursing home experience
