After School Program Director

Job Overview

Open Hearth After School Kids (OHASK) Program is seeking a Director for our well-established after school program serving the families of Fayston and Waitsfield. The Director is responsible for all the day-to-day operations of the program, including oversight of staff and ensuring the program is managed in such a way as to achieve our program vision. The OHASK program serves children 3 - 12; the Director is responsible for the supervision of our after school childcare program and a center based preschool program. The Director reports to the OHASK steering committee, an arm of the non-profit community organization Open Hearth.

OHASK is committed to maintaining a high quality program that creates a safe, stimulating and responsive environment for students. Our director must be motivated, responsible, creative and above all, someone who enjoys children. Strong program management, communication and record-keeping skills essential. Experience maintaining a licensed program preferred, but not required. Applicants must be 21 years of age, hold an Associate’s degree or beyond, and have prior experience working with children, have completed coursework in early childhood education or be eligible for VT teacher licensure.

Our program director receives a competitive hourly wage and a health-care stipend, along with paid planning time, personal/sick days, and year long professional development and training opportunities. The program operates Mon. - Fri. 2:30-5:30PM and follows the school calendar. Director's contract is for up to 6 hours/day; not all work is required to be on site.

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
