Some of the exciting things you will do as a Teacher include, but are not limited to:
- Make a difference everyday!
- Work collaboratively with all teachers to ensure consistency throughout the program
- Work collaboratively and contribute to daily lesson plans that challenge students at all levels
- Communicate daily with parents through verbal face to face, email, daily sheets, etc.
- Work with and perform duties assigned by the lead teacher
- Represent Open Minds in a professional manner
- Build positive relationships in our surrounding communities
- Be a positive role model for your students
- Effectively manage your classroom/age group
Job Requirements
- At least 16 years of age
- Proficiency with classroom technology (IPads, laptops, etc.)
- Ability to sit, stoop, bend to low level positions that best allow interactions with the students
- Current CPR and First Aid training
- Pass pre-employment screening and fingerprint background check
- Flexible Support: Be ready to lend a hand in various areas of the center, including classrooms, administrative tasks, and special events.
- Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.
- Ability to work a minimum three hour shift. Examples* of shift times include: 7:00 AM-12:00 PM / 12:00 PM-5:00 PM / 3:00 PM-6:00 PM/ 9:00 AM-3:00 PM / *shift times are flexible and can be adjusted based off availability
Preferred Qualifications
- Versatile Team Player: Be prepared to take on any position within the building, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional care for our children.
- Collaborative Partner: Work closely with fellow educators and administrators to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- The ability to lift 40 lbs is strongly desired, and may be required in some classrooms
