We are seeking a full-time Prior-Authorization / Health Insurance Verification Specialist to join Open MRI of Macon.
- Full-time Prior-Authorization / Health Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for verifying patient eligibility, coordinating benefits & estimating patient responsibility. The authorization Coordinator must apply and interpret insurance policies and procedures and are responsible for obtaining required authorization prior to a patient receiving our MRI services.
1 years of experience in this high paced environment is a MUST.
- Reviews and processes patient orders received from referring physicians and verify benefits from all forms of insurance for upcoming patient appointments.
- Specialize in insurance benefits and pre-certification.
- Acts as an on-site patient liaison between referring physicians, insurance, and patients.
- Gather the required demographic and clinical information for insurance pre-certification.
- Request and arrange Peer to Peer review when required.
- Work with referring physicians and referral coordinators and build long-lasting and cohesive relationships.
- Confirms and enters all information regarding patient status into patient notes.
- Requires knowledge of coding to ensure that accurate insurance authorization information is aligned with the billing of services.

Education & Training Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Work Experience Requirements:
- 1 years of acquiring Prior-Authorization or related experience required.
