The Purpose:
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing Accounting Team in Chicago. The Job:
- Process accounts payable invoices accurately and efficiently, verifying coding, approvals, and appropriate documentation while using the invoice image system MetaViewer.
- Investigate and resolve problems associated with the processing of invoices.
- Match purchase orders to invoices and resolve any discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices.
- Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors through timely payments.
- Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and follow-up on outstanding issues.
- Monitor the Accounts Payable mailbox, respond to vendor inquiries, and resolve payment discrepancies courteously and professionally.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor files, perform 1099, complete vendor setup and initialize vendor master data changes.
- Respond promptly and professionally to all vendor inquiries.
- Assist with month-end closing as necessary.
- Perform special projects as needed.
The Person:
- 2 years of experience in accounts payable.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and basic data entry skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment and shift priorities as needed.
- Ability to seek out information and resolve issues.
- Comfortable working independently but within a team.
Illinois Salary and Benefit Statement:
The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Illinois if selected for the role. Any salary offered is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience.
Illinois Salary Range: $24-26/hour
This position is eligible for health care benefits, life insurance, time off benefits, and participation in the Company's 401(k) plan.
