Job Summary:
The Onboarding Specialist acts as a liaison between Talent Acquisition, the Hire, and other departments within Covalent Health companies (PRN Ambulance and ProTransport-1). This position oversees the onboarding process for all new hires, rehires, acquisitions, and transfers within Covalent Health. The Onboarding Specialist provides a standardized, best-in-class onboarding experience.
This can be a remote position; working anywhere in the United States.
Pay Rate: $24.00 - $30.00/hr, DOE
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Contacts the Hire after offer acceptance to outline expectations of the onboarding process and identify him/herself as the point of contact for questions going forward.
- Monitors the progress of the Hire through any background or health clearances, ensures onboarding paperwork is completed, and notifies the Hire, Hiring Manager (as-needed), and Talent Acquisition team upon clearance to start. Maintains Smartsheet documentation of progress through the onboarding process.
- Initial creation of Hire’s electronic file. Uploads pertinent information for all transfer Hires.
- Verifies I-9 information is complete and documented within the required timeline.
- Requests, receives, tracks, and files new hire certifications.
- Processes certification renewals for current employees of both PRN Ambulance and ProTransport-1.
- Routine audits of employee files on an as-needed basis.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Two (2) or more years experience in a high-volume onboarding position or experience with onboarding in a company of 1,000 employees
- Understanding of how to maintain a reliable account of information to successfully support business needs; accurate data entry skills
- Ability to learn and navigate multiple cloud-based systems on an ongoing basis, often navigating between multiple screens to obtain information
- Ability to track the progress of multiple hires and provide real-time, on-demand information as to where hires are in the process
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English both verbal and written
- Must be able to work core business hours in Pacific Standard Time (PST)
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to sit for an extended period of time.
- Requires frequent repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, reaching and grasping.
- Must be able to hear and communicate clearly to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
- Adequate vision required to be able to read information from printed sources and computer screens.
Work Environment:
- Works in an office environment where temperatures are comfortable and noise level is low to moderate.
