The Clinical Assessor is responsible for conducting the initial screening, intake, assessment, and diagnostic impression to ensure that and initial treatment plan is developed that will identify the services needed for ongoing care.
The Clinical Assessor will report directly to the Clinical Supervisor. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work a minimum of 20 hours each week. ( is able to work evening and weekends if desired)
- Perform clinical assessments for perspective clients
- Complete reassessments for clients needing to remain in the program
- Responsible for conducting the initial screening, intake, and diagnostic impression
- Completion of the initial treatment plan to identify service needs
- Coordinating care with other assigned clinicians,
- Attend staff meetings regularly.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field from an Accredited College or University, one year of experience providing Mental Health Treatment to adults with mental health issues; one year of experience completing assessments. Applicants should possess good clinical documentation skills, experience working with and assessing mental health illnesses, and the ability to work within a fast paced behavioral health crisis environment. Must be Clinically Licensed in New Mexico with one of the following
- Licensed professional mental health counselor (LPCC);
- Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW);
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT);
- Licensed art therapist (LPAT);
- Licensed master social worker (LMSW); or
- Licensed mental health counselor (LMHC).
Required experience:
- Experience completing clinical assessments:
- Must have a Master’s degree in social work, clinical psychology, counseling or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment methods.
- Ability to provide skilled treatment to clients with social and behavioral problems.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with clients, families, service providers and colleagues.
- Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures, Medicaid services, and community mental health resources.
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
