We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director of Electrical Engineering to join our client’s team. This role supports the Director of Electrical Engineering and offers a clear path to career growth, with the potential to advance to the Director position in the near future.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage electrical design projects of varying scales, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality output.
- Oversee design schedules and direct a team of engineers and technical staff.
- Collaborate closely with architects, owners, and project stakeholders to meet project goals.
- Apply advanced engineering techniques, procedures, and principles to ensure optimal project outcomes.
- Mentor and guide both senior and junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
- Prepare and lead the creation of construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Conduct thorough quality control (QC) reviews to ensure compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
- Serve as a technical consultant on planning, design, and construction matters across diverse facility types.
- Assist in resource allocation and long-term departmental planning.
- Delegate tasks effectively and serve as the engineer in responsible charge (DOR) of key projects.
- Be willing to travel for national and international projects as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BS) with a Professional Engineer (PE) registration, and ability to obtain licensure in multiple states via comity.
- 15 years of experience in electrical design, particularly in power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, grounding systems, and arc flash studies.
- In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code, building codes, NFPA standards, and energy codes.
- Preferred experience in federal, municipal, healthcare, or aviation sectors.
- Proficiency with design software including REVIT and AutoCAD.
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to balance multiple projects and work both independently and as part of a team.
- US citizenship and a valid driver’s license are required.
- LEED AP certification is preferred.
