Job Description
The Senior Electrical Engineer will design and develop electrical systems for commercial construction projects.
This includes designing dual redundant power distribution systems with 100% back-up generator power, and supporting lighting, fire alarm, monitoring, and security systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in designing mission critical, Telecom or Data Center systems.
You should also have expertise in QA/QC electrical construction documents, responding to code official reviews and comments, and attending construction meetings.
We are looking for someone who is proficient with lighting simulation software, such as AGi32, and power coordination and arc flash studies, using SKM.
In addition, you should have experience with energy code analysis, compliance review, including the use of ComCheck, and writing/editing/checking Masterspec specifications.
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required, and EIT certification is mandatory. A PE License with NCEES council record is desired.
- Design and develop electrical systems for commercial construction projects.
- Coordinate designs with architectural, mechanical, and structural departments.
- Support project and construction managers.
- Attend construction meetings and respond to contractor RFIs.
- Conduct field visits, final inspections, and prepare written punch lists.
- Prepare specifications, drawings & details for electrical equipment vendors to obtain pricing.
