The Data Warehouse Architect’s role is to strategically design and implement data warehouses, data marts, and data stores while ensuring high levels of data availability. This individual is also responsible for defining data standards and models for warehouse architecture. They will assist in expanding the consortium’s use of data as a strategic enabler of corporate goals and objectives.

  • Design and implement effective data warehousing solutions using Snowflake, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.
  • Design and implement robust data security measures, including encryption, access controls, and data masking.
  • Monitor, audit, and report on data access to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive metadata repository to support data discovery and lineage.
  • Develop and implement data auditing processes to ensure data integrity and resolve issues proactively.
  • Develop and maintain logical, physical, and conceptual data models to support business requirements.
  • Lead end-to-end data integration processes using ELT for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Optimize data architecture for performance, including query optimization and indexing strategies.
  • Monitor and tune Snowflake environments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Document data architecture designs, processes, and standards.
  • Provide training and support to team members on data architecture best practices.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Business Intelligence teams, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain change management and testing procedures for modifications to data systems.
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Ability to provide 24x7 on call support as part of team on call rotation.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager and/or other leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidate must have a bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8 years of experience implementing data management solutions
  • Expertise in Snowflake concepts such as resource monitors, RBAC controls, scalable virtual warehouses, SQL performance tuning, zero copy clone, time travel, and automation.
  • Proficiency in complex SQL, Unix Shell/Python scripting, performance tuning, and database optimization techniques.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Snowflake SnowPro Advanced: Architect certification (Current and active)
  • Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, and configuration and supporting enterprise data warehouses.
  • Experience with database platforms, including Oracle, SQL Server, and Snowflake.
  • Experience using and creating diagrams in Erwin Data Modeler .
  • Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Hands-on experience with data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling, and business requirements gathering and analysis.
  • Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques.
  • Good knowledge for applicable data privacy practices and laws.

  • General office environment with low noise levels.
  • May require after-hour work and participation in the team on-call rotation

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Target salary range for this position will be $140,000 to $160,000, depending on qualifications.
  • In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus eligibility with a target payout of 10%, based on company and individual performance

Salary : $140,000 - $160,000
