About the Team
The ChatGPT Core Experiences team supports the OpenAI mission by innovating and evolving the Core UX design, technical architecture, and essential features of the Web, iOS, and Android ChatGPT client experiences. We focus on horizontal improvements that strategically empower vertical product development across our organization, enabling the launch of industry-leading feature capabilities.
About the Role We are looking for a senior Android engineer to lead the development of new features and client foundational / architectural improvements across the ChatGPT Android client. In this role, you will :
- Build and ship new features that push the boundaries of research and product innovation, bringing delightful and impactful AI experiences to Android users.
- Plan and implement foundational client architecture improvements, focusing on optimizing performance, reliability, and scalability for the Android platform.
- Drive client-side GraphQL migrations, collaborating with backend teams to adopt and integrate GraphQL, improving data fetching efficiency and developer productivity.
- Optimize Android platform infrastructure to support development, testing, and deployment of these product and architectural improvements.
- Work closely with research, product, design, and data science teams to ensure alignment and success in shipping innovative AI-driven features for Android.
