As a member of our team, you will be responsible for the development, design, layout, and integration of various silicon, SiN, and heterogeneous Si-IIIV based components for our open silicon photonics PDK.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Use custom-built and commercial simulation tools to design and model silicon and SiN photonic optical components.
- Perform photonic integrated circuit CAD layout of integrated optical components and circuits.
- Work cross-functionally with process engineers to define and optimize device structures and processes.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related discipline.
- Experience with photonics design and simulation tools, such as mode solvers, FDTD, beam propagation, and scattering matrix modeling.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor processing and its interaction with photonic component performance.
- Proficiency in programming languages, preferably Python.
