About the Position:
The Clinical Intern will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary treatment team to create an individualized recovery experience that incorporates the body, mind, and spirit of each client. Internships include but is not limited to providing case management, individual, group and milieu therapy sessions, research opportunity, and coordinating care with family, external providers, and community partners.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday: 8:00AM – 4:30PM (may change subject to student schedule)
Experience and Skills:
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a college/university and/or enrolled in a DARC program.
- Work or volunteer experience with addiction and/or mental health treatment
- Recommendation from their school program
- Interview
Supervision and Training
- Individual/group supervision by a licensed professional with a master’s level degree commensurate with the program requirements

Internship Process:
With a strong commitment to our workforce development, Mountainside sponsors internships for students who are enrolled in undergraduate degree, graduate degree and DARC programs in the addiction treatment, social work, counseling, nursing, medical, and healthcare administrative fields. Our interns come from a variety of colleges and universities in and around New England and the metro New York area.
Acceptance to an internship is based upon the availability of supervision in the student’s area of interest, prior experience, and learning needs. We are aware that internships may vary in length and calendar period. As such, applications may be accepted year-round and filled dependent on availability.
The internship program also provides opportunities for current Mountainside employees who are interested in pursuing an advanced degree.
