Job Overview: The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through comprehensive manual and automated testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual testing, automation testing, and API testing, with a focus on non-functional testing like performance testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for both new and existing features
- Perform manual testing to identify defects, verify fixes, and ensure overall product quality
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, JMeter, Load Runner, Karate, or other API testing tools
- Conduct API testing to validate functionality, performance, and reliability
- Execute performance testing to assess system performance under load and identify bottlenecks
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve issues
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Provide timely and accurate feedback to the development team on test results and quality metrics
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3-7 years of experience in software testing
- Strong knowledge of manual testing methodologies and best practices
- Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, JMeter, Load Runner, Karate, or similar
- Proficiency in API testing and understanding of RESTful services
- Experience with non-functional testing, including performance testing, is a plus
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
