What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembler/Welder position at Openwork?
Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a Assembler / Welder in Canton, GA. In this contract to hire role, you will be responsible for
operating equipment and machinery to produce blower housing parts, perform assembly and pack operations on housing assemblies. Perform welding operations in the manufacture of blower assemblies and component parts.

In a Assembler / Welder job you’ll be responsible for :
- Work from blueprints, customer specifications, production schedules, written and verbal instructions.
- Operate and change-over machinery and equipment such as shears, riveting equipment, automated housing assembly equipment, piercing machines and handling equipment.
- Set-up and operate spot welder to fit and fasten housing sides, wrapper sheets, and other components parts utilizing the welder set up grid.
- Complete regular tip maintenance to insure proper weld quality; adjust equipment as required; set weld and modify as necessary utilizing the welder set up grid.
- Assemble housings including inserting shafts, wheels into housings and inserting and fastening cutoff, etc. per customer specifications.
- Insert rivet nuts into housing sides as required.
- Pack housing assemblies onto pallets.
- Add or update MP 245 tags on containers.
- Check parts and materials for visual defects and conformance to specifications; perform minor equipment adjustments; and notify Supervision of out-of-tolerance conditions.
- Complete minor daily equipment maintenance per posted instructions.
- Interact with shop floor computer terminals to record time and production activities.
- Attach proper identification documentation to pallets and containers.
- Assist other operators as time is available.
- Operate roll form equipment.
- Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials.
- Complete inspection procedure per QF forms as required.
- Process paperwork, labeling, etc. based on work instructions, work in process, customer specifications, quality audits, and other related requirements.
- Complete required reports and records.
- Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision.
- Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
