Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Grant Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in securing funding for our programs through the development and submission of compelling grant proposals. This position requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to conduct thorough research on potential funding sources. The Grant Writer will collaborate with various departments to gather information and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and write grant proposals that effectively communicate the mission and objectives of our organization.
- Conduct comprehensive research to identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for grant applications, including program development details and financial reports.
- Manage the entire grant application process, including timelines, submissions, and follow-up communications.
- Prepare financial reports and ensure compliance with grant requirements throughout the lifecycle of each project.
- Utilize Raiser Edge or similar software for tracking grants and managing donor relations.
- Engage in contract management related to grant-funded projects, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
- Maintain a repository of successful grant proposals for future reference and best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in grant proposal writing with a strong portfolio of successful submissions.
- Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Familiarity with program development processes and contract management practices.
- Strong research skills to identify funding opportunities aligned with organizational goals.
- Proficiency in financial report writing to support budgetary requirements in proposals.
- Experience using Raiser Edge or similar fundraising software is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
