Operation New hope is a non-profit in the Springfield area of Jacksonville. The Ready4work program (under Operation New Hope) is responsible for providing job training, job placement and other basic support services to ex-offenders on probation or released from jail or prison.
Position Overview: The primary purpose of the Job is to be the catalyst for the successful transition of a Ready4Work Client from the classroom to work. The Job Coach will match participants with employers to ensure that we allow the participant to succeed, but also allow the employer to continue to be successful in their field of business.
Reports to: Workforce Development Director
The Essential Duties & Responsibilities are listed here but are not all inclusive
- The Job Coach will facilitate employability and educational assessments on all participants, which will include creating skill set profiles and helping to prepare resumes.
- The Job Coach will be responsible for helping Ready4Work program participants secure employment. Responsibilities include: mock interviewing, coaching, driving to interviews, and coordinating vocational training.
- The Job Coach will provide counseling/coaching activities related to participant job retention and work with employers to ensure participants long term success.
- The Job Coach will work with the participants to get pay stubs when required to document employment retention.
- The Job Coach will maintain regular communication with the participant and program staff.
- The Job Coach will be required to administer client drug screen collections.
- The Job Coach will assist employers with Work Opportunity Tax Credit and Federal Bonding paperwork.
- Other duties as assigned.
General Qualifications / Experience / Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, or 5 years direct experience in Job Placement at a non-profit
- Prior experience working at a non-profit is a requirement
- Experience working with an underserved population is a plus
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent documentation skills
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on team collaboration
