Full-time (plus benefits) position open for Substance Abuse Counselor at Operation PAR's Medication Assisted Patient Services (MAPS) program. MAPS provides quality non-residential opioid maintenance therapy to eligible persons who suffer from the effects of opioid dependence. Operation PAR, Inc. is a nonprofit organization.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs substance abuse and mental health counseling work on an individual patient basis and in a group setting. Also provides evaluation, screening and assessment services. Responsible for servicing primary caseload along with other patients as assigned, and documenting in accordance with company standards.

HOURS:

Monday 5:30AM - 1:30PM

Tuesday 5:30AM - 1:00PM

Wednesday 5:30AM - 1:00PM

Thursday 5:30AM - 3:00PM

Friday 5:30AM - 12:30PM

ADDITIONAL HOURS:

Counselors are placed on a revolving schedule to cover weekend shifts, some holiday shifts, weekly Relapse Prevention Groups and monthly Family Groups. Counselors are not scheduled for an entire weekend and all additional scheduled hours are open for trade/swap with other counselors.

Saturday 6:00AM to 10:00AM

Closed Sundays

Holidays 6:30AM to 8:30AM

COMPENSATION: $19.23 - $21.63/hour (based on credentials & experience)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's Degree in counseling or related field required.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATION AND REGISTRATIONS:

• Valid Florida Driver's License
• Must pass background and fingerprinting checks

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to manage time and resources
• Ability to speak coherently and convey concepts
• Computer proficiency required

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to write accurately and legibly
• Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time
• Ability to bend, stoop and reach
• Ability to sit in meetings for extended periods of time
• Ability to move throughout program facilities both indoors and outdoors
• Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds
• Good hearing and vision
