What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Maintenance/Maintenance Tech position at Operation Par Inc.?
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Large campus in Largo area in need of a motivated transportation assistant /facilities tech. Primary duties include entering data into the computer. Minor building maintenance. Some pressure washing and painting minor grounds maintenance. Must have valid FL driver’s license and be able to pass a background screening and drug screening. Applicants must be able to lift more than 50lb, climb ladders, and work outdoors in Florida heat. Any building maintenance experience is a plus. Some computer experience is necessary.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of grounds keeping equipment
- Knowledge of general equipment Maintenance, small engines, basic building maintenance
- Knowledge of service Hand tools
-Knowledge of grounds Maintenance practices, Mowing, weed eating, Etc.
- Basic computer skills, turning on, signing in, entering data
- Ability to effectively and safely operate electrical, non electrical, gas hand tools
- Ability to interact verbally and in writing with venders, suppliers, and other staff
- Ability to climb ladders, rake, shovel, push-pull, lift small equipment
- Ability to work in a positive, professional manner with clients, staff and team
EDUCATION AND EXPIERENCE:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or acceptable equivalency diploma
- Some experience in ground maintenance with minor building maintenance experience. (Education may be substituted by comparable experience)

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS:
- Current Florida Drivers License (class D)
- HIV/AIDS Training required every 2 years
- First Aid CPR Training
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
-Capable of climbing and lifting moderate to heavy objects
-Ability to spend extended periods of time standing, squatting, bending, stooping and stretching
- Ability to operate motorized vehicle and motorized lawn equipment
-Good vision (corrected or uncorrected)
-Ability to work in an interior and exterior environment
-Ability to lift 50lbs, climb and carry ladders, hold poles rods and brushes
