Position Objective :
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for accepting, inspecting, and processing all deliveries including mail deliveries, raw materials, and other products. This role will verify, and record delivered items, unload trucks, ensure items are stored correctly and process all returns. The Receiving Clerk reports to the Warehouse Shipping Manager and works closely with the Lead Shipping Coordinator.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
Ensure we receive the correct packages and stock them appropriately
Work with Shipping Manager to list expected deliveries
Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt
Unload deliveries from incoming trucks
Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.)
Maintaining dock schedules with vendors and 3PL partners to establish inbound control flow
Communicate with Shipping Manager if a mistake is identified from the Shipper
Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
Organizing and storing received items in appropriate areas
Ensure invoices are signed and paid for satisfactory deliveries
Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
Updating inventory with received items
Other projects as assigned
Job Qualifications / Skills :
High School diploma / GED
Minimum 1-year previous warehouse experience ideally in food manufacturing
Excellent communication and organization skills
Excellent understanding of health and warehouse safety regulations
Keen eye for detail
Physical dexterity and experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks
Computer skills and knowledge for data entry and inventory software programs
Basic math skills and recording abilities
Ability to stand 90% of the time
Good physical condition lifting inventory up to 56lbs.
