What are the responsibilities and job description for the Area Prevention Coordinator position at Operation UNITE?
Operation UNITE (Unlawful Narcotics Investigations, Treatment, and Education Inc.) is seeking a motivated team member for our "Educate. Empower. Prevent." Prevention team as an Area Prevention Coordinator. This position is geared towards working within the school systems of assigned counties to provide prevention messaging focused on, but not limited to anti-vaping, anti-substance misuse, anti-fentanyl, internet safety, and healthy choices.
Duties include traveling to school sites within UNITE's 33-county service region, the ability to stay overnight as needed depending on distance to the school side for the program, setting up the equipment and reloading materials following each event with the ability to lift 30 lbs.
Responsibilities Include:
- Facilitating the prevention programming materials within schools.
- Following under the supervision of Prevention Programs Coordinator.
- Participation in and the ability to teach other UNITE youth and adult programming in schools and communities.
- Assisting with UNITE's mobile classroom unit, "On the Move!" as needed.
- The ability to work with adolescents and discuss topics such as substance misuse and alcohol prevention.
- The ability to network within the communities and build rapport with various partners.
- Participation in UNITE events as requested.
Qualifications Include
- Bachelor’s Degree required in one of the following disciplines: Behavioral Science, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health Education.
- Background working with adolescents, preferred.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrates competence, knowledge and skill related to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD).
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to educate communities regarding substance use disorders being a disease to reduce the stigma often associated with drug use.

Pay: From $38,000.00 per year
