We collaborate with municipalities, vendors, and stakeholders to achieve ambitious climate and sustainability goals. We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable individual to join our team, bringing thought leadership, innovation, and a commitment to advancing transportation electrification and sustainability practices across the Commonwealth.

Position Overview:
As a key member of the Climate Unit, the successful candidate will play a vital role in expanding the Commonwealth's Climate initiatives and promoting green procurement practices. This role focuses on supporting municipalities, school districts, utilities, and other stakeholders in developing and implementing clean transportation strategies and sustainability innovations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise in EVs and Alternative Fuels

  • Provide subject-matter expertise in electric vehicles (EVs), fleet electrification, and alternative fuels.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with EV models, battery technology, charging infrastructure, range, charging time, and performance.

Project Management and Coordination:

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage timelines for the procurement, installation of EV infrastructure, and deployment of electrification projects.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop strategic roadmaps, facilitate workshops, and execute transportation electrification strategies.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to technology adoption, infrastructure deployment, and supply chain constraints.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including city officials, public agencies, municipalities, and disadvantaged communities, to ensure equitable access to sustainability resources.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to advance transportation electrification and climate goals.

Vendor Management and Procurement:

  • Manage relationships with EV manufacturers, dealers, and charging infrastructure providers.
  • Assist in drafting and evaluate RFRs for EVs and charging stations, ensuring they meet technical and operational specifications.
  • Evaluate vendors’ sustainability practices to align with public procurement goals and advance decarbonization efforts.

Sustainability and Environmental Impact Assessment:

  • Assess the environmental benefits of climate initiatives and align projects with municipal sustainability and climate objectives.
  • Leverage knowledge of Massachusetts programs promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency to guide stakeholders in maximizing state incentives.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Lead analyses of electrification projects and market trends to quantify opportunities for emissions reduction and cost savings.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data on EV adoption, cost savings, and emissions reductions to inform strategic decisions.

Strategic Leadership and Growth:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement strategies addressing climate and equity challenges.
  • Provide leadership in strategic planning, customer insights, and facilitation of key meetings and workshops.
  • Oversee project delivery to ensure alignment with environmental and climate justice principles.

Grant and Funding Expertise:

  • Stay informed about available funding opportunities and grants to support municipal EV procurement and infrastructure projects.
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders on leveraging funding sources and ensuring compliance with grant requirements to advance transportation electrification initiatives.

Communication and Materials Development:

  • Develop high-quality client-facing materials, including presentations, reports, and proposals, to effectively communicate goals and progress to stakeholders.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in transportation electrification, electric vehicles, and renewable energy.
  • Strong understanding of Massachusetts’ renewable energy and energy efficiency programs.
  • Experience working with municipalities, and disadvantaged communities.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate sustainability practices and drive vendor engagement.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to advancing climate justice and equitable access to sustainability resources.
Qualifications


MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must have at least (A) five (5) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, professional internship, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.

Substitutions:

I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

II. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.

III. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience.

IV. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for four (4) years of the required experience.
