Operational Technical Services (OTS) is a leading provider of staffing solutions for the water and wastewater industry.
POSITION: Operations & Maintenance Technician
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate and maintain the F.O.G. receiving unit "Greasezilla" as directed by the Lead Operator.
- Maintain all components of the unit, including repairs and troubleshooting.
- Perform daily inspections of the operating site.
- Provide customer service to haulers and answer any questions they may have.
- Generate reports and data entry for the Monthly Operating Report.
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational policies.
- Monitor and control assigned tasks to ensure cost-effective service.
- Communicate with project staff, city staff, leadership, haulers, vendors, and manufacturers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Florida Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License preferred.
- 1-3 years' experience in a wastewater treatment facility, operation, and maintenance.
- High School or trade school diploma required.
- A valid Florida motor vehicle operator's license.
- Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions involved in wastewater treatment work.
- OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety certification a plus.
- Knowledge of computer applications Microsoft office applications.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply instructions, drawings, and specifications for work assigned.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
MUST HAVES FOR ROLE:
- Utility Pants: Employees must wear durable utility pants suitable for the work environment.
- Safety Shoes: Steel-toed or other appropriate safety shoes are mandatory to protect against workplace hazards.
- Candidates must consent to and pass a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
