Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Part-Time Water Treatment and Distribution Operator with Grade 2 certifications in both treatment and distribution. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and quality of our water supply, performing routine operations, maintenance, and monitoring of water treatment and distribution systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain water treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.
- Monitor and control water treatment processes, including filtration, disinfection, and chemical dosing.
- Conduct routine inspections and testing of water quality, reporting any discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of water distribution systems, including valves, pumps, and pipelines.
- Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance activities, and water quality tests.
- Respond to emergency situations, performing troubleshooting and problem-solving as required.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries regarding water quality and services.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Grade 2 Water Treatment and Grade 2 Water Distribution certifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in water treatment, environmental science, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in water treatment or distribution operations preferred.
- Strong understanding of water quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to operate and maintain various water treatment and distribution equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environmental conditions.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights when necessary.
