Base Hourly:

$28.60

Class/Calendar:

C41, 12 months

Benefits:

Performance Pay:

Available annually

New Hire Experience:

1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum

New Hire Education:

1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position

 

Job Summary:

 

The Maintenance Facilitator provides essential support to the various maintenance shops within the district, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and more. This position assists the department by coordinating and performing a variety of tasks that ensure smooth operations and effective maintenance of school facilities. The Maintenance Facilitator will help maintain equipment, order supplies, coordinate site visits for vendors, and perform miscellaneous tasks across multiple trades to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for students and staff.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scope Development and Project Management: Responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of a diverse range of projects, including traditional building and site improvements, as well as specialized initiatives for departments. This includes developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets while ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with district goals  
  • General Facilities Services: Organize tools and materials, assist with site cleanup, and support other maintenance tasks to maintain safe and efficient work areas
  • Work Order Coordination: Assist with preparing and tracking work orders, ensuring tasks are prioritized and materials are organized for effective completion
  • Emergency Repairs and Support: Provide immediate support during emergency maintenance situations, ensuring quick resolution or preparation for follow-up repairs
  • Preventive Maintenance Assistance: Support preventive maintenance efforts by scheduling inspections, completing regular tasks, and reporting potential issues to the appropriate shop
  • Vendor Coordination and Site Visits: Coordinate and schedule vendor site visits, ensuring access to necessary resources, tracking vendor performance, and maintaining communication for the successful completion of tasks

 Required Qualifications:

 

To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. Verification of these required qualifications is necessary. 

  •  Driver’s License: Valid, or ability to obtain, an Arizona driver's license
  • Education: Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED)
  • Experience: Must have experience in more than one trade and be comfortable working with contractors and specialty vendors alike
  • Technical Proficiency: Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and various equipment used in facility maintenance
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to prioritize tasks and assist in organizing schedules and work orders
  • Safety Awareness: Familiarity with safety protocols and the safe handling of maintenance tools and equipment
  • Communication Skills: Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with Shop Leads, school and district staff, and vendors
  • Dependability: Demonstrated reliability in attendance and punctuality, with a commitment to high standards of service

 Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  •  Work Environment: Will work in both office and campus/site environments. Site conditions may vary, involving exposure to outdoor weather, noise, dust, and construction hazards. Safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) must be adhered to at all times on-site
  • Physical Ability: Must be capable of performing manual labor, including lifting heavy objects up to 75 pounds, and handling physical tasks that may be required on-site. The role involves prolonged standing, walking, and occasionally working in physically demanding conditions
