OPEX Corporation is currently seeking a full-time highly skilled Press Brake Operator to work on our first shift (M-F, 7:00am-3:30pm) in our 180,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Pennsauken, NJ. The Press Brake Operator will be responsible for the overall setup, operation and performance of sheet metal equipment. OPEX is seeking an individual with a strong and proven background in sheet metal fabrication.
Press Brake Operator Essential Responsibilities:
- This person will be responsible for the overall setup, operation, and performance of sheet metal equipment
- Ensure the correct setup and calibration of sheet metal fabrication equipment, including Amada CNC laser/punch machines, Amada press brakes, etc
- Ability to prepare and run complex setups and forming operations. This includes custom punch modification used in combination with other tooling.
- Perform “1st piece” inspections, clearly & accurately documenting complete dimensional results
- Support 5S & lean manufacturing concepts, always maintaining a clean work environment
- Establish and operate sheet metal equipment under minimal supervision to fabricate as well as form products as per engineering drawings and parameters.
- Perform loading and unloading of material by changing tools and select required machine programs.
- Inspect and maintain press braking operative equipment’s for conformance with safety requirements
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Press Brake Operator Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of proven press brake experience including setup and operation
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal materials, fabrication methods, and related sheet metal equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files
- Must be proficient in measuring instruments and in selecting the proper tooling to produce parts
- Familiarity with CNC machinery and modern fabrication technologies
- Able to read, understand, and interpret all dimensions, characteristics, and symbols.
- This role is a long term opportunity with a very busy facility.
- Amada experience preferred
Press Brake Operator Physical/Work Environments:
- Worker will be working in a production shop setting
- Worker must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Worker must be able to stand throughout duration of their shift
Press Brake Operator Hourly Rate:
- $27-33/hr, depending on experience
Salary : $27 - $33
