The Surgical coordinator is responsible for scheduling ophthalmic surgeries at the ambulatory surgery center and local hospitals and serving as a liaison between the patient and surgeon, facility, pre-op staff, etc. The position requires a good understanding of medical office practices and insurance coverage, patient consents, considerable attention to detail , ability to communicate with patients, surgeons, co-workers and supervisors and a willingness to help in all areas. High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of surgery scheduling or medical office experience, preferably in ophthalmology; Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
