Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Patient care experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical and ophthalmic terminology preferred.
- Positive team member with a good work ethic.
- Empathetic personality.
- Persistence.
- Strong organization with attention to detail.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Computer literacy with ability to type 40 words per minute.
Patient Care Responsibilities:
- Perform technician specific eye exam testing to prepare the patient for seeing the doctor.
- Scribe for the doctor.
- Administer topical medications to patients.
- Understand and briefly explain basic eye conditions to patients.
- Phone triage.
- Set up, prepare, and assist with in-office surgical procedures and laser surgery.
