Your leadership will directly support informed strategic decision-making, not only within your team but throughout the entire company.
We're looking for someone with experience in the energy industry managing data that supports program research and evaluation, including but not limited to Energy Efficiency, Demand Flexibility, Electrification and Decarbonization, Rates and Pricing, Distributed Energy Resources, and Workforce Development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Data Strategy:
- Develop and execute a strategic data management plan aligned with Technical Strategy and business objectives
- Oversee data management software application lifecycle, including selection, procurement, training, governance, and End of Life. Ensure all software meets the company's needs
- Support data-driven enterprise software and architecture development company-wide
- Partner with VPs of tech strategy, business development, innovation, and operations
- Oversee data integration processes
- Establish data quality metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Establish and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures to maintain data quality and integrity across the organization
- Ensure compliance with relevant State, Federal, and Client data privacy and security laws
- Lead and manage a team of data engineers and develop and mentor team members to enhance their data management skills and knowledge
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs, ensure data are readily accessible for decision-making, and communicate data insights and findings to key stakeholders effectively and regularly
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data engineering, data analytics, or related field and at least 15 years of relevant experience; applied experience in the energy industry
- Technical Expertise:
- Deep understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, data pipelines, and data modeling concepts
- Proficiency in data management tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, ETL, data visualization platforms)
- Software development life cycle
- Project Management (agile, PMP, Scrum)
- Artificial Intelligence
- Cloud computing, ideally Azure
- System Administration/Global Administrator Windows environment
- Cloud computing services (e.g., Power BI, Databricks, Posit Work Bench, Data Factory)
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
- Data Security / Risk Assessments
- Business Acumen:
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and translate insights into actionable business strategies
- Strong experience in strategic planning and business development
- Ability to align data management initiatives with overall business goals
- Leadership and Communication:
- Proven leadership skills to manage and motivate a team of data professionals
- Excellent communication skills to effectively present complex data insights to diverse audiences
- Proficient with stakeholder engagement
