Automation Engineer
This role reports directly to the Plant Maintenance Manager as assigned and will provide a technical function supporting the reliability of highly automated manufacturing equipment, including automotive paint lines, injection molding machines, assembly cells, and others through the optimization of preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis.

Specific Job Duties :
Lead and drive equipment failure investigations and root cause analysis. Implement corrective and preventative actions to drive reliability of equipment
Knowleges of Siemens Step 7 are required
Identify and initiate continuous improvement activities to ensure safety, quality, and equipment availability targets are met
Lead and drive critical reactive maintenance troubleshooting and repairs on highly automated equipment including PLCs, robots, communications networks, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and other equipment
Share relevant technical expertise and develop technician’s skills to prepare them to work effectively and efficiently
Define and implement condition-based monitoring concepts for component failure prediction
Develop obsolescence plans for aging equipment and components
Develop, implement, and optimize best practices in regard to equipment reliability and performance
Define, develop, and implement cost saving initiatives
Define, develop, and implement effective and efficient repair and recovery processes to reduce MTTR
Propose and manage small and medium-scale projects from beginning to end, including the effective management of contractors as needed
