Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optical Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in optical laboratory procedures and techniques, with a focus on quality assurance and laboratory management. As an Optical Technician, you will play a crucial role in the production and quality control of optical devices, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of accuracy and performance.

Duties

  • Operate and maintain optical lathes and other laboratory equipment to fabricate lenses and optical components.
  • Perform various laboratory procedures, including grinding, polishing, and coating lenses according to specifications.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on finished products to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues related to equipment or production processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including inventory management and equipment maintenance logs.
  • Stay updated on advancements in ophthalmology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology knowledge to enhance technical skills.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in an optical laboratory setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with laboratory techniques and procedures related to optical fabrication.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance processes in a laboratory environment.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to ophthalmology is advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with colleagues and management.
