Job Summary : The Direct Support Professional (DSP) for the Residential Crisis Service Unit (RCSU) plays a vital role in providing compassionate, individualized support to residents experiencing crisis. The DSP will assist residents with daily living activities, crisis stabilization, skill-building, and implementing therapeutic interventions as guided by the clinical team, while maintaining a safe and positive environment. Key Responsibilities :
- Resident Care & Support :
- Provide direct care and supervision to residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
- Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal hygiene, meals, medication reminders, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Encourage residents to engage in meaningful activities, fostering independence and social skills.
- Completing all required documentation; administering medications; preparing meals; housekeeping; transportation as may be required in company vehicle.
- Crisis Intervention & De-Escalation :
- Recognize and respond to residents' behavioral or emotional crises promptly, employing de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed care practices.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to manage crises and follow safety protocols.
- Documentation & Reporting :
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed documentation on resident behavior, progress, and incidents during each shift.
- Communicate relevant observations and issues to supervisory staff and other team members as necessary.
- Program Support & Activities :
- Support the implementation of care plans, therapeutic activities, and goals as outlined by the clinical team.
- Assist with skill-building exercises, group sessions, and community outings designed to aid residents' stabilization and growth.
- Team Collaboration & Communication :
- Work effectively as part of a team, coordinating care with other DSPs, clinical staff, and external service providers.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions to maintain and enhance skills.
- Environment Safety & Maintenance :
- Monitor the residential environment to ensure cleanliness, safety, and adherence to health standards.
- Conduct routine checks and address any hazards, reporting concerns as needed.

Requirements : Must be 21 years old or older; be able to complete documentation; be able to bend, kneel and lift up to 50 pounds and be able to pass federal and state criminal background investigations. Must be 21 years or older, and must have an acceptable driving record and a vehicle for all shifts.
