About the role
The Community Support Professional (CSP) will be responsible for providing direct support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in large groups, small groups, and one to one, ensuring that each person has access to a meaningf ul day.
This role will focus on helping people achieve person centered goals related to preparing for, maintaining, and succeeding in their efforts around employment, socialization, volunteering, recreation, resource location, money management, and transportation.
What you"ll do
- Provide transportation via facility vans for individuals to and from Opportunities, Inc. and throughout Montgomery County.
- Cultivate meaningful relationships within the community, facilitating connections between community members and service recipients for employment, volunteerism, and recreation.
- Familiarize yourself with service recipients" goals and outcomes, and track their progress while providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain precise attendance and activity records using the iCareManager database system and required DORS paperwork.
- Understand the health needs, risks, and diagnoses of service recipients to offer appropriate support.
- Deliver customized, person-centered services that promote growth among all supported individuals while identifying and connecting with natural supports within various community settings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Will be creative, detailed oriented, a self-starter, capable of multitasking, and organized
- Will be familiar with Montgomery County and / or Prince George's County activities and resources
- Willing to work in a high energy environment, with a diverse population
- Have a High School Diploma or GED (AA preferred)
- Have a valid driver"s license, a clean driving record, reliable transportation and be willing to drive Opportunities, Inc. vehicles
- Have technical knowledge to operate a laptop / desktop computer, and use Microsoft Office suite, Zoom, and other similar computer programs.
