What are the responsibilities and job description for the Screw Machine Operator III position at Opportunities with The Dixon Group?
Dixon Brass is looking for a highly experienced Acme Gridley Screw Machine Setup Operator to join our team in Westmont, Illinois. We are looking for an individual with at least 20 years of experience. You will be responsible for setting up and operating screw machines. In addition, you will provide technical and hands-on support to less experienced members of the team.
Shift Hours: 3:30pm - 12:00am

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up jobs from layouts provided. Use technical expertise to modify layouts as machining conditions change
- Run quality product throughout the shift
- Monitor work to maintain through-hole concentricity and various finishes
- Assist others with setups and tooling issues
- Stock up and clean out chips in a fast-paced brass cutting environment
- Maintain a professional work ethic and enjoy working as part of a dynamic team
Qualifications:
- Ability to install and set dovetail form tools and shave tools
- Experienced in drilling, counterbore, and ream
- Ability to perform tapping and diehead threading cutting (circular chasers)
- Experienced with set thread rolling attachments (Reed) and roll threads to print. Roll stamping experience is also desired.
- Ability to knee turn and spot face as required
- Experience with pickoff attachments is desired but not required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable standing for long periods and working in a manufacturing environment
- Willingness to learn and take on physical tasks as you progress
