RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead quality assurance and inspection processes, ensuring compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation to improve product quality and reduce defects.
- Support supplier quality initiatives, including audits, PPAPs, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Manage First Article Inspection (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and enhance manufacturing quality.
- Oversee and maintain quality documentation and reporting, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Interface with customers and regulatory agencies on quality-related matters, ensuring effective communication and resolution of quality issues.
- Provide guidance and training on quality best practices to internal teams and suppliers.
- Lead and support internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to industry and customer standards.
- Travel to customer sites or trade shows as needed to participate in technical discussions, present solutions, and support customer quality concerns.
COMPETENCIES:
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification (or equivalent experience in process improvement).
- Strong expertise in root cause analysis techniques (e.g., Shainin Red X, RRCA, 8D).
- Working knowledge of AS9100, FAI, PPAP, and government/customer audits (DCMA, FAA, MDA, etc.).
- Experience with mechanical measurement equipment required (height gages, calipers, micrometers, optical comparator, etc); experience with CMM and 3D scanning preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications required.
- Experience reading and interpreting Government contracts preferred.
- High level of Organizational, Problem-solving and Communication skills required.
- High level of competence in metrology and GD&T preferred.
- Experience managing nonconformance investigations, CAPAs, and supplier quality issues.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a data-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel as needed for customer support, trade shows, or technical discussions.
